Vehicle Bug Sweeps & Tracker Detection
Vehicles are a common place for GPS trackers, tracking tags, and other unwanted surveillance devices. Our vehicle bug sweeping service checks for these risks using careful inspection and professional detection equipment designed for modern vehicles.
Whether it’s a personal car, work vehicle, or part of a fleet, the goal is simple. Find anything that should not be there, explain it clearly, and give you confidence in your next steps.
What We Look For
- GPS and mobile trackers: hard-wired units, OBD plug-in devices, and magnet-mounted trackers.
- Hidden microphones and recorders: wired or battery-powered devices concealed in trims, seats, or panels.
- Bluetooth tracking tags: short-range devices used to monitor proximity or movement.
How the Vehicle Sweep Is Done
You stay with us for the entire sweep. We explain what we are doing as we go, so nothing feels hidden or rushed.
The process starts with a visual inspection of the vehicle. Where access allows, this includes an underbody check, followed by a careful inspection inside the cabin, boot, and accessible trim areas.
We then carry out a full RF scan to look for active wireless signals that should not be present. This helps identify GPS trackers, transmitters, and other devices that are currently communicating.
Soft areas such as seats are checked using specialist electronics detection equipment that can locate hidden devices even if they are switched off.
To finish, a short drive is completed to detect trackers that only activate once the vehicle is moving. We also scan for Bluetooth tracking tags such as AirTags and similar devices.
What to Expect on the Day
Once booked in, most vehicle sweeps take between 30 minutes and 90 minutes, depending on the type of vehicle and what needs to be checked.
The sweep is carried out carefully and without rushing. You stay with us the entire time, so you can ask questions, and see what is being checked.
At the end of the sweep, we explain what was found, or confirm when nothing suspicious is detected. If you would like a written report or photos, these can be provided on request, however there are additional fees for the report, and we need to know you require one prior to the sweep. A report can take up to 48 hours and will be delivered by email.
For best results, the vehicle should be as uncluttered as possible. Clear access to footwells, seats, the boot, and storage areas allows all accessible spaces to be checked properly and avoids missing hidden areas.
